Original black-and-white press photograph of American jazz trumpeter, singer, and composer Chesney ‘Chet’ Baker (1929–1988) at the grand piano. Recording from Hollywood, 1954. Back with archival stamp and remnants of glued-on note or news telegram. Oakwood frame with double glass. Visible size 16.5×16.5 cm. Frame size 26×26 cm.

With his lyrical trumpet playing and distinctive singing voice, Chet Baker achieved fame in the early 1950s as one of the most prominent representatives of modern jazz music and for many people he remains a cult figure.

Condition

This is an original black-and-white silver gelatin press photograph from c. 1954, which has yellowed. Back discoloured. Furthermore, signs of handling, including fine surface scratches.
