View from a lake with a father and his son fishing at sunset. Signed with monogram and dated 82, and further inscribed 15. Octbr. 1882. Inscribed on the stretcher (in Danish): “Gifted Aunt Frederikke Viale, her birthday 15. oct. 1882 by landscape painter Kyhn”. Oil on canvas. 20.5×24 cm.
Provenance: Inscribed on the bottom part of the folded canvas is an adress with the name “Overkrigs[kommissær] Schmidt” (General War Commissioner Schmidt). Inscribed on the stretcher (in Danish): 'Belongs to barrister Schmidt and his wife Frederikke Viale.
A few minimal retouches. Minor crackles. In need of a light surface cleaning.
