An Indo-Portuguese ivory inlaid wood table cabinet on stand with two hinged doors opening to reveal eight drawers, the fronts inlaid with ivory depicting flowers and trees surrounded by standing birds. The designs on the drawers and the carved details on the back of this cabinet relate very closely to those on a fall-front cabinet illustrated in Amin Jaffer, Luxury Goods From India, London 2002, pp. 44–45.
Overall good condition.
Normal patina due to age and use, including surface scratches and marks.
Veneer damage on the front door and on the corners. Interior with veneer damage on the drawers.
The stand is not original belonging to the cabinet but fits nicely.
