A Russian icon, Mother of God “Lamentation at the Cross”. Center with the crying Mother, to the left the pillar that Christ was suffering at, and the cock which reminds the prophecy of Christ to he holy apostle Peter, “before the cock crows twice you will deny me three times”, to the right the empty grave, at the bottom the other tools of the passion as the withnesses. Tempera on wooden panel. 18th century. 31×26 cm.
