Alexander Karlovich Dalman (, St. Petersburg)

A Russian silver and cloisonné enamel bracelet with saber lock, mounted with two silver chains. Alexander Karlovich Dalman (1880–1905), St. Petersburg town mark, 84 standard. Weight c. 72 g. H. 7 cm. W. 7 cm. Diam. c. 6 cm.

Condition

Minimal wear due to age. Saber with a bend.

It has been suggested that the bracelet was originally a belt buckle, which was changed. Against this, however, speaks that the sides of the jewelry piece are extra curved (to be a bracelet around the arm) compared to a belt buckle. It is incredibly difficult to bend a buckle thus without destroying the enamel.
