The Swedish sculptor Johan (John) Börjeson was admitted to the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1858. During his time at the Academy, he was not recognized for his talents, and it wasn't until the age of 30, in 1867, that he made a breakthrough and was awarded a travel scholarship to Rome, where he stayed and studied until 1876.
Mounted on cardboard. The paper has turned yellow. Minor damp discolourations. Minor paper loss in corners.
