The present painting is presumably the one mentioned in Weilbachs kunstnerleksikon of Betty Thora Clausen from 1895, painted the year before she marrried the artist. On the back of the stretcher an extra piece of the canvas with the inscription “Portrait of Miss B. T. C.”
Remounted on new stretcher. Crackles. Retouches and a few minimal peelings. In need of a light surface cleaning.
