Petter Ernst (b. Stockholm 1714, d. 1784)

A large Swedish Rococo longcase clock with musical movement, in a blue-painted and giltwood case carved with foliage, rocailles and ornaments, round painted metal dial with a calendar aperture and minute dial, the movement has eight chiming bells and a large separate striking bell. Signed to the centre 'Ernst, Stockholm'. Mid-18th century. H. 246 cm. W. 61 cm. D. 21 cm.
