The important topographical work “Novus Atlas Daniæ” was published by the Danish painter Johan Jacob Bruun in 1761–64. Unfortunately he could never afford to finish the work. After his death in 1789 the engraver G.L. Lahde (1780–1833) bought the plates and reissued the work in 1799 and 1805.
