'Santana' was formed in San Francisco in 1966 by Mexican-born guitarist Carlos Santana (b. 1947). Over the years, the band has had various line-ups and Carlos Santana himself is currently the only one who has been with the band from the beginning. Carlos Santana's father was a mariachi violinist and he taught his young son to play this instrument. However, when the boy was eight years old, his love switched to the guitar.
This is an original b/w silver gelatin press photograph from 1969. Three creased corners. Furthermore wrinkle in upper right corner. Telegram on back missing one corner; has yellowed slightly. Additionally normal signs of age and handling.
