A Russian Empire silver bread basket, of boat-shaped form, rim chased with vine leaves and grapes, pierced border chased and embossed with griffins, cornucopias and vases, open groomed stem on oval raised pierced base with griffins, rim with two female masks holding the swing handle. Johann Diedrich Tiedemann, assay scrape, assayer Alexander Ilich Jachinov, St. Petersburg town mark, 84 standard, furthermore a noble crowned coat of arms. Weight c. 972 g. H. 16 / 31 cm. L. 33 cm. W. 21 cm.

Johann Diedrich Tiedemann was purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court.
