The phrase “The Pacific War” is a collective name of the wars, which arose as a result of the Japanese expansion desire in the 1930s and 1940s. The Pacific War took place partly in China and South East Asia, partly in vast areas of the Pacific Ocean. Counting from December 7th, 1941 (the Japanse attack on the American naval base in Pearl Harbour, Hawaii) the war became part of the world war. Some of the most brutal combats during World War II took place in the Pacific region, where the Japanese forces again and again showed a degree of obduration and willingness to make sacrifices that amazed the Americans.
This is an original American b/w press photograph from 1944, which shows signs of normal handling. Back with some discolouration.
