A Danish Amager silver-gilt “hovedvandsæg” vinaigrette, the hinged cover with crowned oval medallion, flanked by two wild men, engraved with later owner's initials and date CPS TJS 1892, the body set with two medallions, the base with standing lions and balm-hide, indistinctly pricked with inscription, date 1795 and initials AGBD. Unidentified maker's mark. Weight 79 g. H. 11.5 cm. Later fitted leather case with initials and date TJ 1892.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Top medallion later/replaced, later engraved EP1940 GS 1968. Side medallions presumably with later framings.
