The hydrogen bomb was invented by Hungarian-born physicist Edward Teller (1908–2003) and the first test explosion took place in the Marshall Islands on November 1, 1952. Even the early hydrogen bombs contained extreme destructive power - far greater than that of atomic bombs - as the present photograph illustrates.
This is an original b/w silver-gelatin press photograph from 1962, which shows a short line from a ballpoint pen on the front. Back has yellowed and shows remains of glue. Furthermore normal signs of handling. No further remarks.
