Provenance: Ambassador and consul general G. F. K. Harhoff and spouse (neè Baroness Moltke) were close acquaintances of Barbara Hutton, during Harhoff's time as ambassador in New York in the 1970s. Harhoff assisted Barbara Hutton amongst other things with legal advice, and for one of these services he received this diamond.
