“Safari chair”. An easy chair with patinated ash frame. Seat, back, armrests and loose seat cushion upholstered with natural leather. Model 4700. Designed 1933. Manufactured by Rud. Rasmussens Snedkerier.

In 1933 professor Kaare Klint designed “Safari Chair” with special attention to design a simple and portable easy chair. He was inspired by an English officer's chair which he had seen in a travel book from Africa. Constructing a chair which could easily be disassembled and assembled without using any tools Klint maintained the field equipment purpose of the chair.

Condition

Wear due to age and use, including scratches and marks. Leather with stains, dirt and defects/Hole around front.
