In 1934 Vilhelm Lauritzen built a villa on Øregårdsvænget 7 in Hellerup - a house that was tailored to the wishes and demands of the owners. Included in the project was also proposals for the interior. Specifically for the lady of the house bedroom, the requirement was that it should be of a design that was on par with any Hollywood film interior of the period. Cabinetmaker Jacob Kjær was chosen for the task, and the result was a bedroom with a dressing table and stool of exceptional form as well as a special bed, a small sofa and an upholstered chair. This stunning sofa had a size that would fit exactly between the dressing table and window. The frame was originally painted white. Today, only the small sofa and the chair still exist according to the owner.
