A pair of late Gustavian white painted stools after the model by Ephraim Ståhl, each with square seat and carved apron, X-shaped legs joined by profiled stretchers, standing on swan heads. Stockholm, late 18th century. (2)
Ephraim Ståhl (1767–1820) was one of the the most recognized chair-makers in Stockholm. His elegant furniture was in extremely high demand in the late 18th century and early 19th century.
