An unusual fully stocked iron mounted under hammer percussion gun probably by I. V. Hilscher in Germany c 1840. The butt has a patch box with a wooden cover. The unusual lock utilities the “trigger guard” as a hammer with the spring placed on the trigger plate. The two-stage barrel is c 96 cm long in calibre c 20 mm. The gun is most probably a rifle bored out for shot.

A pistol with an almost identical lock by I. V. Hilscher was sold by Herman Historica on their online auctin 080s on the 25/11 2019 as lot 9072.

Condition

The ramrod not original, all iron cleaned, the stock cracked by the neck and by the back part of the barrel.
