13 small Russian primarily 18th c. silver vodka cups of which eight with applied handles and two gilt on the inside. Various makers among others Grigori Ivanov Serebrjanikov, Cyrillic assayer marm VA, Moscow townmark 1766. And a silver egg cup with indistinct mark, 19th c. Weight 388 g. H. 3–4.5 cm. (14).

Provenance: The Danish Envoy and Consul General Hans Poul Hoffmeyer (1893–1962). Secretary of Legation in Vienna, Berlin, Moscow and Warzaw in the 1920s, later Counsellor of the Legation in Berlin, Paris, Turkey, Israel and Greece, and finally Consul General in Hamburg from 1954. Hoffmeyer's interest in collecting silver was pervasive and he acquired items in all the cities he lived. Thence by descent with residence in Denmark, until today.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Larger and minor dents.
