A Danish Amager silver “hovedvandsæg” vinaigrette, heartshaped, gilt interior, lid and body widely chased with rocailles and flowers, crowned lid with doves, stem flanked by two rampant lions, round base with balm hide, gilt interior, bottom punched with initials and the year 1778. Presumably maker Peter Jacobsen Griis, Copenhagen 1755–1787. Weight 64 g. H. 9 cm.

Condition

Wear due to age and use. Loose hide lid.
