A Danish sterling silver ship model of “MS Selandia”. Marked by A. Dragsted, Copenhagen, ca. 1937. Fitted in glass and patinated metal showcase. L. ship 33 cm.

Present given to MS Selandias godmother Maria Andersen, wife of H.N. Andersen, the founder of The East Asiatic Company, at the 25th anniversary of MS Selandia. MS Selandia was the most advanced ocean-going diesel motor ship in her time. She was built for cargo and passenger carriage. Provenance: East Asiatic Company's main office in Copenhagen.
