England, Florence Nightingale medal, silver, gilt and enamel, original worn ribbon, instituted in 1912 by the Red Cross.
The medal was awarded to Louise Bader-Gruber, 1886–1977, active as a nurse during the First World War. She was later a prominent member of AIBMG (National Association for Wounded War Nurses) and was also awarded the croix de guerre, médaille d'honneur des épidémies and the légion d'honneur.
