A Dutch matchlock musket c 1610–20 richly decorated with bone inlays. The butt is high and slender, a simple lock held by two screws, c 107,5 cm long two-stage barrel in calibre c 18 mm with an indistinct maker’s mark on the left side and marked PS in front of the tang. The whole stock finely inlaid with flowers and foliage in bone.
Condition
Pieces of bone missing around the tang, above the lock, between the lock screws and by the noose cap. The stock cracked and glued.
