Barbro Nilsson (b. Malmö 1899, d. Höganäs 1983)
“Spättan, blå” (The plaice, blue). Handwoven wool carpet in “Gobeläng” flat weave technique with wavy pattern in shades of blue and purple. Signed AB MMF BN. Designed 1943. This example made after 1943 by Märta Måås-Fjetterström AB, Sweden. L. 311 cm. W. 225 cm.
The pattern got it's name from the first edition, which was woven in shades of red for Barbro Nilsson's parents' home at Lidingö, Sweden.
