From private view invitation: “In 1987–88, Per Kirkeby created a series of 14 original woodcuts for Brøndums Forlag. Each print was produced in an edition of 10 numbered and signed impressions, printed in five colours in a format of 50 × 70 cm. The series came into being as follows: the first three colours were printed from blocks on a letterpress and were identical across the entire series. The artist then carved an additional two blocks individually for each print, which were printed by hand using a private hand press and Rembrandt tube inks!”
