In the series Suburban Stills Sofie Pihl depicts somewhat banal suburban markers, “in-between-spaces” or spatial structures. By layering the photographs, she explores the space both in and in-between shots.
Sofie Pihl’s layering of images within individual works create a surprising depth, transforming the mundane and seemingly concrete subjects into the mysterious and ephemeral.
