Henry Heerup (b. Copenhagen 1907, d. s.p. 1993)
Untitled. Signed Heerup. Pencil on paper. Sheet size 40×30 cm.
Henry Heerup (1907–1993) was a central figure in Danish modernism and closely associated with both the Linien group and CoBrA. He worked across a wide range of media – from found-object assemblages and stone sculpture to painting, printmaking, and drawing – always with a unique eye for the poetry of everyday life. His art merges humour and gravity, myth and reality, circling around life’s intimate stories, allotment gardens, symbols, and human connections.
Few folds in the paper. Examined in frame.
