Ephraim Ståhl (b. 1767, d. Stockholm 1820, attributed)

A large set of 18 Swedish late Gustavian painted chairs in Egyptian style, upholstered back and seat, the back carved with acanthus leaves in the center and flanked by sphinx busts, the seat frieze carved with rosettes in the corners and leaf boards, round tapering fluted front legs adorned with carved foliage, slightly curved back legs. Stockholm, late 18th century. (18)
