Becker was a master of building fountains, that means that he designed and oversaw the development of fountains. In addition to his regular employer, the Danish royal house, he delivered, among other things, fountains for the newly built enormous Versailles outside Paris.

Provenance: Joachim Becker is the current owner's great-great-grandfather and the painter Otto Bache's great-grandfather. The paintings have hung in Bache's home.
