Prime Minister Winston Churchill and President Franklin D. Roosevelt had talks on American ground on June 19–25, 1942. Here they agreed to the invasion of North Africa, known as Operation Torch. At the same time FDR appointed Dwight D. Eisenhower Commander in Chief of all US forces in the European theater of Operations.
This is an original b/w press photograph from 1942, which shows slightly wavy edges as well as a few surface cracklings. Press cutting has yellowed due to ageing. Furthermore normal signs of handling.
