A Baroque travelling cutlery set comprising knife and fork with moss agate handles, mountings of presumably gold adorned with polychrome enamel in the form of palmettes and flowers, slight variation in enamel design and stone, knife blade marked with small crown. In blind tooled fitted leather box. 17th-18th century. L. 16.5 and 17.5 cm.

Provenance: According to information the travelling set was owned by Princess Charlotte Frederikke (1784–1840) and given as a gift during a visit to the Gammel Eskær manor, Jutland, probably during her exile in Horsens, Jutland.

Included a handwritten note: This cutlery belonged to her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Frederikke, daughter of Grand Duke Frederik Franz I of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. The Princess married her cousin Prince Christian Frederik of Denmark in 1806 and later became mother of Frederik VII of Denmark.
