An 18k gold open-face pocket watch with jumping center seconds “Seconde Morte”, white dial with subsidiary hour dial with Arabic numerals, outer second track, gilt movement richly engraved with flowers and foliage, dust cover of gilt metal. Fluted case band with on/off lever. Back case hallmarked L&R, serial no. 1169. Switzerland or France, c. 1800–1820. Weight in total 121 g. Case diam. 56 mm.

The watch works but we do not guarantee for the functionality. Dial with some minor rim chips, one larger surface scratch. Hour hand with broken tip. Case/caseband dented. On/off slide appear stuck but the second hand can be activated and stopped. Back case and dust cover engraved with name. Dust cover slightly loose. Key included.
