A French Gothic gilt-copper chalice, tapering cup on hexagon-shaped stem with geometric enamel pattern, hereon a bottun chased with stylized foliage and set with six circular religious motifs in blue enamel and gold, domed-spreading and cloverleaf shaped base cast with coat of arms, dome-spreading and cloverleaf shaped base with beaded border. 15th century. H. 17.5 cm.
Provenance: The collection after pharmacist Steen Oxholt Holt-Hove (1906–1986), Danish assay master 1971–1974. Thence by descent until today.
Minor wear due to age and use, including worn gilding, marks and scrathes. Enamel motifs with chips. A little loose in the moutnings between cup, stem and base.
