China, Ming Dynasty, Board of Revenue, 1 Kuan (1000 Cash), 1368–1399, Pick AA10, printed on mulberry bark paper and stamped with the Red Seal of Emperor Hung Wu. Small chip outside printed margin in upper left corner, both right corners missing, chipped along right margin - otherwise of unusually good paper quality.
Provenance: Consigned by the grandson of the renowned Danish collector and engineer Sophus Black (1882–1960), who was stationed in China from 1902 to 1931.
