Louis Vuitton

A monogram hat trunk in stencilled monogrammed canvas with lozine, brass trim and metal hardware. One large detachable tray inside and basket inset, marked 185050, paper label 'Asnières s/seine Louis Vuitton'. Crowned monogram 'I. W.' and black and red painted stripes on each side. Made in France 1910–20. App. H. 53 cm. W. 60 cm. D. 49 cm.

Julius Carl Hannibal Count Wedell (-Wedellsborg) (b. 26 July 1881 at Borupgård near Elsinore - d. 25 February 1963 in Odense), he was a Danish landowner, chamberlain and court huntsman.

Provenance: This trunk comes from an attic in a private home in Husby, west Funen. The Husby parish is where Wedellsborg castle is located.

Condition

Marks and scratches. Wear. Rusty metal mounting.
