A Brass mounted Austrian short, converted rifle c 1770 by Flunk in St. Pölten. The butt cap decorated with a stag, butt with patch box, escutcheon with monogram SWL, flat lock with set trigger engraved with a rider and a boar? marked FLUNK behind the hammer and SPETON? in front of it, side-plate in plate, c 45 cm long octagonal barrel in calibre c 15 mm rifled with 7 grooves marked FLUNK IN S. POLTEN and a maker’s mark above the powder chamber. Brass dubbed wooden ramrod with a bullet screw held by two fluted ramrods.

Condition

The iron spotted, the butt with a new piece of wood, the fore-stock replaced.
