Lasse Centio (b. 1996)
Untitled, 2024. Signed L. Centio. Glazed earthenware with airbrush technique. 21×43×18.
The Danish artist Lasse Centio (b. 1996) lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts – Department of Contemporary Art from the University of Bergen, Norway (2018–2021). His artistic expression manifests as a fusion of inspiration from popular culture, his spontaneous stream of consciousness, and a relational aspect. He creates works that freeze a cross-section of the moment. Over the past year, Centio’s fascination has been directed towards cowboy aesthetics. With this aesthetic, Centio illustrates and freezes the cowboy in various postures; lying and sitting, relaxed and amidst a break from the everyday hustle and bustle. In this way, Centio connects the viewer with an intuitive snapshot and addresses both personal and universal themes with his colorful works in various materials such as spray, acrylic, and oil paint, airbrush, plaster, cement, bronze, and clay.
ORiginal condition.
