Siegfriede Caroline Bille was initially educated at N.V. Dorphs Malerskole (1862–1931) from 1906 to 1909 and in 1910 at Teknisk Skole (The Technical School) in Copenhagen. Through her extensive travelling she was from an early age introduced to the international art community. She undertook study tours to Berlin in 1912, attending the Secessionsschule under Lovis Corinth (1858–1925), and Académie Ranson in Paris in 1913 as a student of Maurice Denis (1870–1943). She subsequently attended Harald Giersings Malerskole (1881–1927) in 1916 and the Kunstakademiet (The Royal Art Academy in Copenhagen) in 1930 to 1933 under Elof Risebye (1892–1961). Billes preferred motifs were landscapes, window views and flowers.

The paper has turned slightly brown. Minor tears (0.5–3.0 cm) along the sides. Minimal paper loss in corners. A few minimal damp discolourations along with a few minimal discolourations.
