Carl Fabergé (, Moscow 1896-1908)
A small Russian silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel kovsh, of oval form with raised peak prow and hook handle, braided rope rim, decorated with colourful scrolling stylized flowers and foliage on cream ground within cables. Carl Fabergé in Moscow, marked with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court, assayer Ivan Sergeievich Lebedkin 1896–1908, 88 standard, scratched inventory no. 21995. Weight c. 58 g. H. 3 cm. L. 8.3 cm.
Provenance: Acquired by the Danish seller's mother at Sotheby's in Geneva in the 1980s.
