Jacobine (Bizzie) Severine Henriette Høyer graduated from the Emilie Mundts and Marie Luplaus Painting School and then attended the Academy of Fine Arts from 1904 to 1909. Later, she studied at the Decoration School under Einar Utzon-Frank from 1922 to 1924. She exhibited at the Charlottenborg Exhibition and the Artists' Autumn Exhibition, and her works were received with praise and recognition. In 1947, she received the Eckersberg Medal.
In her paintings, Bizzie Høyer alternates between a fine, sensitive, almost impressionistic style and a slightly more expressive, rough painting style. She places particular emphasis on the interaction between light and color. However, her production is relatively limited, and her artistic legacy consists primarily of her enormous pedagogical work as a teacher for numerous young artists who are prepared for admission to the Academy of Fine Arts at her drawing and painting school in Copenhagen. Among her students over the years are Ejler Bille, Richard Mortensen and Jørn Larsen.
