A Danish late Empire silver-gilt vinaigrette box, of rectangular form, domed lid cast with cornucopias and shell ornamentation on sunrise-pattern, beneath hinged and pierced lid with wine leaves and grapes, under which the balm hide, pricked in bottom “K. C. Nielsen A. Erichsen 1841”. Maker Johan Peter Rode, Haderslev 1819–1879. Weight 39 g. L. 4.8 cm.
