A pair of sea battles from the Napoleonic Wars between Denmark and England at St. Thomas, the Virgin Islands: “Briggen Kongen under Capitain Jessens Comando Angreb af 2de Engelske Fregatters ved St. Thomas den 3. die Marty 1801” and “Briggen Kongen under Capitain Jessens Comando afslaaer 2de Engelske Fregatters Angreb ved St. Thomas den 3. die Marty 1801” (the brig “King” under the command of Captain Jessen attacks two English frigates at St. Thomas March 3 1801 and the brig “King” under the command of Captain Jessen avoids two English frigates at St. Thomas March 3 1801): Watercolour on paper laid on paper. Sheet size 24.5×45 cm each. (2).

Condition

Some foxing. Damp discolourations. Examined in frame. The paper has turned slightly brown. Both sea battles are cut out of the original whole sheets (where the original signatures were) and later laid on other paper. The original text is glued on the reverse.
