Back with pencil note, related press cutting, bureau stamp and date of publication (January 8th 1950). Photo size 23×18 cm. Frame size 43×33 cm.
Erwin Casimir was German fencing champion (foil and sabre) 52 times and participated in - and brought home medals from - three Olympic Games. During the latter part of his life he was the German member of The International Olympic Committee (IOC).
This is an original b/w press photograph from 1950, which shows signs of handling, slight surface cracklings and a slightly discoloured back.
