A Danish Rococo silver sugar bowl, of spiral-fluted form, twin handles cast with shells, raised on three stylized foliaged feet, pricked with statement of weight in exterior bottom, resp. “13 lod 3 qt 1 ort” and here also pricked “BWAH” and engraved “CBH”. Maker Joachim Weller, Holstebro 1754–1792, the widow continued the workshop until 1802, but probably produced during the master's time. Weight 200 g. H. 8 cm. W. 18.5 cm. Diam. 13 cm.

Provenance: From the collection of supreme court litigator Ole Gangsted-Rasmussen (1911–1998).

Condition

Minimal wear due to age and use, including few and small marks and scratches.
