A Russian circular diamond and enamel brooch, decorated with the Imperial Warrant, set with dark blue opaque enamel and several rosecut diamonds and one old mine-cut diamond, laid on light blue translucent enamel on guilloched ground, mounted in silver and gilt-silver. C. 1900. Converted from an original bottun to a brooch. Diam. 2.5 cm.
Provenance: The Danish seller's forefathers were marines and lived among others in Northern Zealand. The brooch possible came to the family in connection with the Tsar family visits here. Accompanied by case.
Minimal wear due to age and use, including minimal translucent enamel chips. Remains of a bottun eyelet on the reverse.
