Novgorod School, late 16th century

A Russian icon depicting The Miracle of The Saints Flor and Lavr. At the mountain top is seen St. Mikhail flanked by the Saints Flor and Lavr, at the low end are the bishop St. Blasius and St. Spiridion, the main scenery are covered by the holy martyrs Ekaterina, Pergamounij and Pjatnitsa. Tempera on wood panel on gold ground with a kovcheg. Novgorod School, late 16th century. 33×25.5 cm.

Exhibited: The Gothenburg Museum of Art 1927, The National Gallery in Oslo 1928, The National Gallery in Oslo 1930, Oslo Kunstforening 1957 and The Archbishop’s Palace Museum in Trondheim 1999.
