A long barrelled iron mounted hunting rifle c 1820–40 with an East India Company pistol lock. The lock plate is marked with rampant lion and crowned 3 and is held by two screws without side-plate. The barrel is c 108,5 cm long in fake damask in calibre c 17 mm rifled with 9 grooves.
The rifle most probably made in India.
Condition
All iron spotted and dark, a chiver of wood is missing by the tang and most of the gilding on the barrel gone.
