Kay Bojesen (b. Copenhagen 1886, d. Gentofte 1958)

A patinated teak and limbawood monkey figure and a patinated beech nutcracker carved in the shape of Danish minister of state Thorvald Stauning. Made by Kay Bojesen. Nut cracker not stamped. L. resp. 19 and 22.

The nutcracker was designed in 1932 and was only manufactured during Thorvald Staunings time in office until 1942.

Condition

Wear due to age and use, including scratches, notches and marks. Monkey with unoriginal and loose rubber bands, nails on shoulder loose. Nut cracker with repair/restauration by nail.
