Vicke Lindstrand (b. Sweden 1904, d. 1983)

“Höst” (Autumn). Two rare clear glass vases. Inlaid with polychrome glass in the shape of bare trees and fallen leaves. Signed Kosta Lu 2010, and Lu 2011. Designed approx. 1951. Made approx. 1950s by Kosta, Sweden. H. 16 and 21 cm. (2)

These vases belong to perhaps the most iconic series of vases that Lindstrand designed for Kosta in the 1950s. A series where Lindstrand manages to show trees in different weather conditions by using inlaid glass. Beside “Höst” (Autumn), the series include “Träd i dimma” (Trees in Fog) and “Vinter” (Winter).

Literature: H. Ricke: “Glas im Schweden”, ill. p. 222.
